Tokio Hotel se ha adueñado del mundo, no sólo son una banda de gran éxito en Europa, pero también son una banda de primera clase en los Estados Unidos. Sólo unas semanas atrás, ganó un premio al Mejor Grupo en los EMA's, demostrando que realmente tienen lo que se necesita. Hemos podido hablar con los chicos y te hemos llenado de l la intención de estar de nuevo en contacto con sus fans el año que viene!

Alex Zawada: Usted acaba de ganar un premio por Mejor Grupo en los EMA ante The Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Kings of Leon, y los Jonas Brothers, ¿cómo se siente sabiendo que venció a bandas tan bien conocidas?
Bill: Te sientes muy bien y estuvimos muy honrados de ser nominado, incluso con las bandas! Nosotros las admiramos y respetamos mucho y ganar esa categoría es increíble. Gracias a nuestros fans de nuevo ... sois los mejores!

AZ: Yo sé que soos muy conocidos en Europa, pero ¿cómo os sentós sabiendo que Estados Unidos apoya tanto igualmente ?
Tom: Estamos muy contentos. Me refiero a ser una banda de jóvenes de Alemania y tener la oportunidad de compartir los registros que, incluso en los Estados se siente como un sueño hecho realidad. Antes, cuando teníamos trece años sólo queríamos ser descubiertos y mira dónde estamos ahora. Quiero decir que esto sigue siendo sólo el principio para nosotros en los EE.UU., pero ya está totalmente loco.
Bill: Hasta ahora hemos tenido un tiempo increíble en nuestros viajes de EE.UU. y esperamos volver muy pronto en 2010.

AZ: Los fans han estado preguntando por qué hay una gran diferencia entre las traducciones de las letras de las canciones del álbum humanoid?
Bill: Bueno, tienes que ver cómo que son dos versiones diferentes. No es una a una la traducción. Pero en general tienen el mismo sentimiento y significado. Esta vez hemos escrito en inglés y en alemán, al mismo tiempo.

AZ: ¿Cuál es vuestra canción favorita del nuevo álbum?
Tom. Cuando se trabaja en un álbum largo tiempo y tan intensamente, es difícil escoger una canción favorita. Me gustan mucho todas. AUTOMÁTIC, NOISE y nuestro próximo single WORLD BEHIND MY WALL son mis Favoritos en este momento, pero podría cambiar ..;-) la próxima semana
Bill: Esta es una pregunta difícil, es como pedirle a alguien que de sus propios hijos cuál les gusta más! Por el momento estoy realmente con PHANTOMRIDER y DOGS UNLEASHED.

AZ: ¿Cuál es tu momento más embarazoso en el escenario?
Tom: Es más el tiempo que estamos antes de subir al escenario. Tenemos un miedo escénico enorme, así que no hay nada peor que los minutos antes de salir al escenario. Cuando estamos allí todo es grande.

AZ: ¿Qué te inspiró a entrar en la música?
Bill: nadie ni nada en particular, realmente me inspiró. Simplemente, me parecía natural y yo sabía que esto es lo que quería hacer por el resto de mi vida desde el momento en que tenía unos cinco años de edad.

AZ: Si usted puede colaborar con cualquier persona quién sería?
Todos: STEVEN TYLER sería realmente guay ...!

AZ: Si pudieras cambiar algo de la industria de la música, ¿qué cambiaríais?
Bill: que la gente entienda que no pagar por la música está destruyendo el arte y los artistas - especialmente para los recién llegados.

AZ: ¿Qué pueden esperar los fans de vosotros en el próximo año?
Tom: Vamos a ir de gira en 2010 y estamos totalmente entusiasmados con eso. Sobre todo después de tanto tiempo en el estudio es fantástico volver a los escenarios y cumplir con todos los aficionados.
Bill: Hemos preparado algunas cosas malas para este tour para que todos pueden esperar algunas sorpresas. Espero que estemos en los EE.UU. a finales de 2010 para los conciertos.

AZ: ¿Tienes algún consejo para los aspirantes a músicos?
Bill: Que sigan su corazón y se determinen. No dejes que nadie te diga lo que puedes o no puedes hacer.
Tom: Y que no sigan ningún consejo ;-) [risas]

AZ: ¿Hay algo más que la música en lo que vosotros podríais estar interesados en el futuro, o esto es algo que quereis hacer vuestra vida entera?
Tom: No, en realidad - esta banda es nuestra vida y esperamos estar haciendo esto por mucho tiempo.
Bill: ¡Exactamente! Si esto no hubiera funcionado no tengo ni idea de qué otra cosa hubiera hecho - no hay nada más aparte de la música que se sienta tan perfecto.

AZ: ¿Hay algo que quieras decirle a tus fans aquí en Musiqtone?
Bill: Sí, muchas gracias por todo vuestro apoyo. Sin vosotros no estaríamos aquí - nos vemos en una ciudad cercana de usted en el 2010.

Tokio Hotel has taken over the world; not only are they a hugely successful band in Europe, but they are also a top notch band in the United States. Just a few weeks ago; they won an award for Best Group at the EMA's; showing that they really do have what it takes. We were able to talk with the guys and fill you in how they plan on getting back in touch with their fans in the next year!

Alex Zawada: You just won an award for Best Group at the EMAs beating out Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Kings of Leon, and the Jonas Brothers; how does it feel knowing you beat out such well known bands?
Bill:It feels great and we were very honoured to even be nominated with those bands! We admire and respect them so much and winning that category is unbelievable. Thanks to our fans again… you are the best!

AZ: I know you are very well known in Europe, but how does it feel knowing the United States supports you just as much?
Tom: We are thrilled. I mean being a young band from Germany and getting the chance to even release records in the States feels like a dream come true. Back when we were thirteen we just wanted to be discovered and look where we are now. I mean this is still only the beginning for us in the US but it’s already absolutely crazy.
Bill: So far we had an amazing time on our US trips and we hope to come back very soon in 2010.

AZ: Fans have been wondering why there is such a great difference between translations for the lyrics of the songs on the Humanoid album?
Bill: Well, you have to see them as two different versions. It’s not a one to one translation. But in general they have the same feeling and meaning. This time we wrote in English and in German at the same time.

AZ: What is your favourite song on the new album?
Tom: When working on an album that long and so intensely, it is hard to pick a favourite song. I really like all of them. AUTOMATIC, NOISE and our next single WORLD BEHIND MY WALL are my faves at the moment, but that might change next week..;-)
Bill: This is such a tough question, it’s like asking someone which of their own kids they like best! At the moment I am really into PHANTOMRIDER and DOGS UNLEASHED.

AZ: What's your most embarrassing moment on stage?
Tom: It is more the time before we go on stage. We have huge stage fright, so nothing is worse than the minutes before going on stage. When we are up there everything is great.

AZ: What inspired you to get into music?
Bill: Nobody or nothing in particular really inspired me. It just felt natural and I knew this is what I want to do for the rest of my life from the time I was about five years old.

AZ: If you could collaborate with anyone who would it be?
All: STEVEN TYLER would be really cool…!

AZ: If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would you change?
Bill: Make people understand that not paying for music is destroying the art and the artists – especially for the newcomers.

AZ: What can fans expect from you in the next year?
Tom: We will be going on tour in 2010 and we are totally excited about that. Especially after such a long time in the studio it’s fantastic to go back on stage and meet all the fans.
Bill: We’ve prepared some wicked stuff for this tour so everyone can expect some surprises. Hopefully we will be in the US toward the end of 2010 for concerts.

AZ: Do you have any advice for aspiring musicians?
Bill: Follow your heart and be determined. Don’t let anybody tell you what you can or can’t do.
Tom: And don’t follow any advice ;-) [laughs]

AZ: Is there something other than music that you might be interested in the future or is this something you want to do your whole lives?
Tom: No, not really – this band is our life and we hope to be doing this for a long time.
Bill: Exactly! Had this not worked out I have no clue what else I or we would have done – there is nothing else besides music that feels so perfect.

AZ: Is there anything you'd like to tell your fans here at Musiqtone?
Bill: Yes, thanks so much for all your support. Without you we would not be here – see you in a town near you in 2010.
